Top notch resource for beginner to experienced individuals

This book is perfect. It is short, sweet and lacking all the theory no one can prove anyway. My experience as a meta physician, healer and enjoyer of all things new agey has shown me that this is an experience based discipline and you need to get the details from experience NOT from intellectual literature. Further more, if an author can't put the point across in under 200 pages I don't believe they really know what it is they are trying to get across. Harriette avoids all these problems keeping the book an extreme of lean, weighing in at only 120 pages (cover to cover!!)
I found this to be an excellent desk/pocket reference for my day to day use. The simple approach makes it easy for someone new to the genera to get a foundation and allows the experienced to find the information they want to reference quickly without wading through pages of text referring to Atlantis, Lemuria and aliens.
The book is loaded with some tips for applying the knowledge to your life as an experienced practitioner of meditation and the healing arts. Which simultaneously serve as launch pads for the novice to google and explore new areas of spirituality.
A heart felt thanks to Harriette for producing this book! Chakra Power! is a wise investment whatever your level of experience or future holds. Adding this book to your collection is something you will never regret. Enjoy!

Great Book for Beginners

When I opened the book and glanced through the first few pages, I chuckled when I read the acknowledgments. The author thanked each of her chakras for their help in writing the book. I knew I would like the book and the author.
As a student of metaphysics, I found this book to be right on target although basic in its approach. It provides a simple but thorough overview to introduce newbies to the concept of chakras: what they are, where they are located, what they do, as well as the color and gemstone that corresponds to each one. A separate chapter is dedicated to learning more about specific features and duties of individual chakras. There's a chapter on how to get your chakras burning brighter.
The author goes into a little more detail about what happens when the chakras are out of sync and tells what causes the imbalance. She also gives suggestions and exercises to release blockages and restore health to body, mind, and spirit. I liked the bonus section on gemstones and the chakra meditation at the end of chapter 10.
My husband took the book to work with him and shared it with a co-worker who had never heard of chakras. I think this book will be a great support for her since she works in the medical field as a cytologist.
Overall, a very good way to start learning about the body's energy centers and how to recognize and enhance connection with Mother Earth and Divine Source as well as asking for assistance from angels and spirit guides. I highly recommend this book!

Chakra Power is a beautiful introduction or reminder of the importance of the chakras to our health and well-being. Harriette Knight explains the chakra energy system so well that no one who reads this book will ever forget that the "chakras are the wheels of the bus that get you where you need to go."
Harriette shows how chakras affect everyone's daily lives and are not just esoteric Eastern concepts for the yogi. She uses entertaining tidbits from the Wizard of Oz - likening the ruby slippers that guided Dorothy home to our own red Root Chakra, the base of safety and security. And she likens the Yellow Brick Road that took Dorothy to the Emerald City to the Solar Plexus Chakra, our personal golden path to the green Heart Chakra of love and compassion... brilliant analogies that make the chakra system so easily understandable.
Along with her colorful explanations of each of the seven chakras, Knight offers tips to heal each chakra, as well as a bonus section on "The Meanings of Stones You Wear," describing the healing properties and chakra activation of gems ranging from abalone to zircon. This book is a great addition to any library of books on chakras and one I'll refer to over and over again.
