Outstanding and a Classic

This book presents the basic ideas of ordinary and partial differential equations in a more in-depth manner than most other books and does so in a not-too-hard-to-follow way. If you are a mathematics major and want a more rigorous disscussion of differential equations, then go for this book. Also this book has some topics not explored in other books, like difference equations, non-linear differential equations and the stablity of solutions to differential equations. All in all, a great book for the mathematics major.

You get what you pay for

My class uses this book for diff eq. at a university. I have found my dads old diff eq. textbook much more helpful than this.
