The species and lesser taxa enumeration following each genus contains the scientific name, common name or names, general habitat preferences, frequency and area of occurrence, flowering or sporulating periods, and pertinent taxonomic and nonmenclatural synonyms.

Good technical key

This is an excellent key for trained botanists (or very knowledgable amateurs) who want to identify the flora of the Blue Ridge Mountains of the southeast United States. However, it is not a book for the untrained, casual observer of wildflowers. The dichotomous key is easy to follow, though I wished the habitat descriptions were more detailed. The lack of illustrations is distressing -- sometimes a picture IS worth a thousand words! However, I appreciate that illustrations are expensive and would have increased the size of the book. It is easily carried in the field -- always a plus.

Great taxonomic key

I used this key in college for two botany classes (a plant diversity class and a plant anatomy and physiology class). It is an excellent tool for identifying plants, but, as the other two reviews noted, it is probably not something you're going to use while walking through the woods as a casual plant-lover. There are no illustrations, and most of the keys require a good dissecting microscope or at least a hand lense to really get a good look at the anatomy of the plant. I would also recommend purchasing a good dictionary of plant terminology to use in conjunction with this. However, if you're looking for an excellent book of dichotomous keys for plants over much of the southeastern U.S., I don't know that there is a better one out there.

Excellent regional reference for vascular flora.

I'm in the Appalachian Mountains, up around northwest North Carolina. Thus far I've yet to find ANY endemic species not in this book. Provided you understand phylogenetic trees (it's a system for figuring out what you're looking at) and have a decent reference for scientist speak you've got the definitive guide.

This is not, however, a field guide. This is a very detailed scientific guide, there are several good field guides out there. If you are unfamiliar with scientific terminology regarding botany look into getting a book on plant taxonomy to go with it, the author Zack E. Murrell has one named 'Vascular Plant Taxonomy'.

Since then the artist as a performer has challenged many of the accepted rules of the theatre and radically altered our notion of what constitutes visual art. This is the first publication to outline the essential characteristics of the field and to put forward a method for teaching the subject as a discipline distinct from dance, drama, painting or sculpture.
Taking the theory of primary and secondary colours as his model, Anthony Howell posits three primaries of action and shows how these may be mixed to obtain a secondary range of actions. Based on a taught course, the system is designed for practical use in the studio and is also entertaining to explore. Examples are cited from leading performance groups and practitioners such as Bobbie Baker, Orlan, Stelarc, Annie Sprinkle, Robert Wilson, Goat Island, and Station House Opera.
This volume, however, is not just an illustrated grammar of action - it also shows how the syntax of that grammar has psychoanalytic repercussions. This enables the performer to relate the system to lived experience, ensuring a realisation that meaning is being dealt with through these actions and that the stystem set forth is more than a dry structuring of the characteristics of movement.
Freud's notion of 'transference' and Lacan's understanding of 'repetition' are compared to a performer's usage of the same terms. Thus the book provides a psychoanalytic critique of performance at the same time as it outlines an efficient method for creating live work on both fine art and theatre courses.

About the Author
Anthony Howell was the founder and director of The Theatre of Mistakes - a performance company of the seventies noted for its work in galleries as well as in theatres - and is the co-author of Elements of Performance Art, the first compendium of performance exercise. He has performed at the Tate Gallery (London), at the Paula Cooper Gallery (New York) and at the Paris and Sydney Biennales, as well as at the Jeanetta Cochrane Theatre (London), the Theatre for the New City (New York) and the Th��tre Dejazet (Paris). Recently he created "Commentary on Klein" for London's Hayward Gallery. A Senior Lecturer in art and performance, he is the editor of Grey Suit: Video for Art and Literature, and for several years he has organised the performance festival "Cardiff Art in Time". He has also published a novel and seven books of poetry, and has lectured and performed at theatre festivals, at universities and at art galleries in Denmark, Serbia and Macedonia. He recently directed The Infernal Triangle at the ICA, London.

what I've come to expect

As always Sam Crescent delivers a great book with a alpha hero hard not to love. While attending a party her family expects her to attend Jennifer steps away to be alone for a few minutes and that's when she meets Patrick. Patrick is instantly attracted to Jennifer so he makes quick work of getting her to spend time with him. Jennifer knows immediately who Patrick is she also knows he rich, he's a playboy, and he's gorgeous, but Patrick seems different and while they talk Jennifer decides to give into his charms. A few weeks later it's becoming clear Jennifer is pregnant and she knows not only will her parents be furious but that this baby will be her responsibility. Patrick has looked for Jennifer and with only her first name has had no luck finding her till he see's her in the newspaper after an incident where she got sick in a restaurant. And because of this and being in the heat of the moment and not using protection he is sure this is a sign she's pregnant with his baby. Now with her last name he is able to find Jennifer and immediately goes and finds her. When he see's her his feelings are just as hot as when her first saw her and he talks Jennifer into getting to know each other better. Jennifer agree's to Patrick's suggestion of getting to know each other and then deciding what to do from there, the more time they spend with each other the closer they become. Till Patrick starts to pull away. Then the unthinkable happens. And Patrick will have to decide what he really wants and if he is willing to do what he needs to to get what he wants back. In all of Sam Crescent's books I know I will have an alpha hero, passion, conflict, and a great story and this story was just that. The beginning felt a little rushed and I wished we had gotten more but overall this was a great Sam Crescent novella, Just what I've come to expect from Mrs. Crescent.

Heart racing and adrenaline-pumping, Patrick is a playboy meeting a heavy girl. She’s was in the same circle family-wise–kind of. He loved the playboy life and sleeping with anything that had boobs and skinny body. Jennifer was always looked down upon because she wasn’t a skinny model. Her mother did the most damage. One night Patrick and Jennifer meet and have a one night stand which changed everything for them.

When Patrick first finds out that Jennifer is pregnant, he does what no one expects and wants to get married. She won’t have it because that they barely know each other. I believed that the book story line was great. I liked reading about a wonderful thing turning into a tragedy.

As far as the characters go, Patrick is a great character. Jennifer she often got onto my nerves. As I felt her pain, joy, and pleasure, I could not get over the fact that she always repeated herself and whined. I understand growing up with her mother being overbearing would make her less confident, but it was just too much of the same stuff that got under my skin. The sex and chemistry that Patrick and Jennifer had was to die for, though. I would read the page slowly to savor the heat. They had this bond that was wonderful and powerful ever since the first night. It was WOW!!!!

Would I recommend this book to anyone? I would say yes, because aside from the characters, it’s a great love story that has the right amount of sex, love, and emotions involved. I read this whole thing in a day. Since I finished, I have have told lots of readers that they should definitely read this book. If you like hot, sexy, romance then I highly believe that you will enjoy this book .

I liked the premise of the story even though some parts went slow such as the climax of the book it felt like it was going back and forth with feelings every where. Otherwise I liked it.
